4.4.19 RESIDUAL IMAGE

Symptom

Part of the image on the previous page
appears.

Possible Cause

1) The transfer-belt cleaning unit is
lifted at incorrect intervals.
2) Contact failure of the cleaning unit's
bias terminal.
3) Failure of the high voltage unit.

Countermeasures

1) Check that the transfer-belt cleaning
unit is correctly installed.
2) Replace the high voltage unit.

4.4.20 INSUFFICIENT GLOSS

Symptom
Part of the image is not glossy enough.
Possible Cause
1) The hot roller or the pressure unit in
the fusing unit is damaged.
2) The fusing temperature is not
correctly controlled.
3) The paper type is not set correctly.
Countermeasures
1) Replace the fusing unit.
2) Check the mode setting of the paper.
