18.6 Check the voltage converter for the Recaro seat

18.6.1 Preparations for testing

Remove battery boxes.
Remove splash protection. See chapter 12.2.
Reinsert battery boxes.

Checking voltage at Recaro seat

Separate plug connection of battery cable to
voltage converter.
Measure voltage present at the supply cable
contacts (see sketch
It must amount to at least 19 V.
Reconnect plugs.
Separate the plug connection to the Recaro
seat.
Measure the output voltage.
Independently of the battery charging status ,
it must amount to between 2.5 and 4 V.
Note:
Only under load (seat connection existent and activated) does the voltage converter deliver
a voltage output of 12 V.
In not loaded condition, only a level of 2.5 to 4 volts is to be measured.
Caution:
Do not bridge contacts. Danger of short-circuit!
