Note:
The unlatching unit for right-handed users is standard. The illustration shows both
variations.

11.5.1 Disassembly of backrest adjustment

Loosen screws (9) with Allen key (3 mm) and remove together with clamps (8 and 12) so
that the unlatching unit (11) is released from the armrest (25).
Loosen countersunk screw (7) and separate attachment (10) from the unlatching unit.
Loosen bolt (6) and nut (17) with 13 mm spanner and remove together with washers (16).
Remove bush (5) from the attachment (23) so that the backrest adjustment can be removed
upwards.
Remove quick-release bolt (13) from the attachment (24)and completely detach the
backrest adjustment.
Loosen bolt (14) and nut (17) at remove together with washers (16), so that the adapter (15)
can be removed from the gas pressure spring.
Hold the fork piece (1) firmly, unscrew the gas pressure spring(19) from the fork piece and
remove.
Loosen bolt (4) and nut (21) and separate brace (3) from fork piece (1).
Pinch and remove end caps (22) from inside Bowden cable if necessary, loosen clamping
screws (2) on the brace (3), and pull out the inside Bowden cable from its outer cover.
Loosen regulating screws (20) on fork piece (1) and on unlatching unit (11), and remove
Bowden cable.

11.5.2 Reassembly of backrest adjustment

Reassembly takes place in the reverse order.
Caution:
If a new inside Bowden cable is inserted, the end caps must be pinched on. Before
doing this, the Bowden cable must be reaffixed to the unlatching unit (11) with
regulating screws (20), and to the brace (3) with the clamping screws (2).
After complete reassembly, the Bowden cable must be adjusted so that the brace (3)
is allowed play of approx.15 mm. inside the fork piece (1) if the unlatching unit lever is
moved. The backrest has an adjustment range of between 0 and max. 30°.
The self-locking nuts (17 and 21) must be replaced every time.
