9.11.1 Disassembly of backrest element

• If existing, remove headrest first. See chapter 9.9.
• Remove connection plug (11) from its socket.
• Remove quick-release bolt (7) on the upper part of the backrest frame tube (1) and put
actuator motor down.
• Loosen nut (12) on the lower part of the support bracket (16), completely and detach
together with washer (10).
• Support actuator motor with your hand, remove screw (9) with washer (10) and detach
motor.
• Loosen nuts (6), on the lower part of the support bracket (16), and detach together with
washers (3).
• Support the backrest frame tube (1) with your hand and remove screws (2) with washers (4
and 6) from the support bracket (16). Then detach backrest frame tube (1).
• Detach safety belt (17) from backrest frame tube (1).
• Press bushes (5) outward from their attachments in the backrest frame tube (1).
Note:
The bushes can only be removed from the inside to the outside.
• Loosen tapping screws (19) completely and detach the backrest belt (18) from the backrest
frame tube (1) or press backrest upholstery (20) from the backrest frame tube (1).
Note:
The backrest upholstery can also be removed while the backrest frame tube is being
mounted.
• If necessary, remove countersunk tapping screws (22) and detach clamping pieces (21).
• If necessary, loosen nuts (15) completely and detach together with washers (14).
• If necessary, hold support bracket (16) with your hand, remove screws (13) with washers
(14) and detach support bracket (16) from the seat frame.
Caution:
Do not remove support bracket (16) completely, as otherwise the seat frame would only
be carried by the threaded spindle or the seat tilt adjustment actuator motor and would
thus turn unstable.

9.11.2 Reassembly of the backrest elements

• Reassembly takes place in the reverse order.
Note:
Insert backrest upholstery (1) with care in order not to damage the clamping pieces
(plastic).
