17 Testing and repair work on the actuator motors

17.1 General

The actuator motors are driven by the ACS via an actuator
module. Depending on which type of vehicle, the wheelchair
can be equipped with the following actuator motors:
Actuator motor for seat angle adjustment
Actuator motor for backrest adjustment
Actuator motors for legrest adjustment
Actuator motor for chin control
The motors are controlled using the joystick box or if
necessary using an additional remote.
The plug connectors (1) are accessibly laid and the
occupancy is marked by symbols (2).

17.2 Checking the actuator motors

The following tests can be performed:
Performance test by applying a voltage

Continuity test on the motor coils using the Multimeter

17.2.1 Visual inspection of the plug contacts:

Check, whether the plug contacts are pushed back or
oxidised.

17.2.2 Continuity check:

Pull the actuator motor plug to be tested from the socket
board.
Set the Multimeter to continuity test.
Measure the continuity of the motor electric circuit at the
plug contact check windows shown in the drawing on the
right.
