Operational Guidelines:
When the clock quality of the PSTN or ATM links is the same, the links may be
connected arbitrarily.
When the links have different clock qualities, use the better quality clock links with the
highest priority and the lesser quality ones with lower clock priority.
4.7.2 Connections for Non-Synchronized Mode - For TPM + T3

System Configurations Only

When working with T3 interfaces, each board is synchronized at the board level,
recovering the clock from one of its multiplexed active DS1 trunks. The most qualified
clock references should appear on the lowest trunk numbers on the multiplexed trunk
stream.
For the TPM + T3 System Configuration, use these guidelines:
If the clock reference fails, the Avaya G860 Media Gateway automatically starts
looking for the next clock reference. The search starts from the first DS1 trunk,
continuing on to the last one. Therefore, the most qualified clock references should
appear on the lowest trunk number of the multiplexed trunk stream.
When the clock quality of all multiplexed DS1 trunks are the same, the clock reference
may be chosen arbitrarily.
