Using functions that require a license

Overview
When it is delivered from the factory, the converter contains the firmware required for operation.
The converter firmware can be augmented with functions that require a license.
Requirement
A memory card with the appropriate license file must be inserted in the converter to operate the
converter with a function that requires a license.
If a required license is not held, the converter can only be operated in Trial License mode
during commissioning and servicing.
Note
Not all functions requiring licensing can be used in Trial License mode.
Description
Functions that require a license can be accessed in the following ways:
• Memory card with license as Z option
The memory card can be ordered from the factory with licenses preinstalled.
– The license file is permanently assigned to the memory card. The license file is provided
– The certificates of license (eCoL) are stored with the license file on the memory card.
• Allocate a license to an existing memory card
Use "Web License Manager" to assign an additional license to a particular memory card and
create a new license file for the memory card.
