Step 3.
Open the retaining latch to disengage the battery; then, lift the battery to remove it from the seat.
Attention: Do not lift the battery by using excessive force. Failing to remove the battery properly
may damage the socket on the system board. Any damage to the socket may require replacing the
system board.

After this task is completed
1. Dispose of the CMOS battery as required by local ordinances or regulations.
2. Install a replacement unit. See
Install a CMOS battery (CR2032)
Follow instructions in this section to install a CMOS battery (CR2032).
