• If the server is installed in a rack, remove the server from the rack. See
on page 49.
Procedure
Step 1. Make preparation for this task.
a. Remove the top cover. See
b. Remove all the fan modules. See
c. Remove all the PCIe assemblies. If the configuration comes with PCIe riser 2 and internal
drives, remove all the internal drives, and lift the internal drive backplane before removing PCIe
riser 2. See
d. Remove the processor air baffle. See
e. Remove the fan cage. See
Step 2. Disconnect all the cables from the fan control board.
Step 3. Remove the fan control board.
a. Loosen the thumbscrew that secures the fan control board.
b. Slide the fan control board until the guide pins on the chassis are seated on the large
opening of the keyholes; then, lift the fan control board to remove it.
