• If the server is installed in a rack, remove the server from the rack. See

Procedure
Step 1. Make preparation for this task.
a. Remove the top cover. See
b. Remove all the PCIe assemblies. If the configuration comes with PCIe riser 2 and internal
drives, remove all the internal drives, and lift the internal drive backplane before removing PCIe
riser 2. See
c. Remove the processor air baffle. See
Step 2. Disconnect the intrusion switch cable from the system board.
Step 3. Loosen the captive screw that secures the intrusion switch, and pull the intrusion switch up to
remove it.
