• If the server is installed in a rack, remove the server from the rack. See

Procedure
Step 1. Make preparation for this task.
a. Remove the top cover. See
b. Remove PCIe riser 1. See
cable is disconnected from the system board when removing PCIe riser 1.
Step 2. Open the retainer, and remove the screw that secures the module.

Step 3. Carefully slide the module out of the slot.
Note: If no replacement module or adapter is to be installed in Slot 5, insert the slot filler, and
secure the filler with one screw.
