Read the Release Notes, Known Anomalies, and other relevant
documentation.
These documents describe how to configure and manage your network and
provide guidelines on how to prevent problems. They also tell you what's
changed since the previous version. Read them before installing or upgrading
your software.
Minimize disruption when installing new software.
When installing or upgrading software or using a new feature for the first
time, test it at a time or on a node that minimizes disruption to the network.
After verifying the change, make the change and verify it on one node at a
time in the network. This will help you isolate and solve any problems that
may occur as the result of the change.
Select the proper tool for configuring the elements of your Dial VPN
network.
When you create a new configuration file or make major changes to an
existing configuration file, you should use Site Manager in remote or local
mode. Use Site Manager in dynamic mode only to perform minor changes,
such as adding a port or changing a filter.
To configure the Remote Annex, use the
command line interface.
