Note: When running memory intensive applications, the VFS uses the memory available of the FRE card. If the available memory is less than the requested memory, BayStream software will not create it. You can dynamically change the size of the VFS whereas the FLASH/SRAM file system is restricted by its physical size.

The SVC connections may be left in the “half connected” state. This condition is similar to the bouncing of UNI SVC interface on a BayStream software release prior to Revision 7.3. SVC Operation The Annex A link management and selection procedures described in the previous section are used to determine the active link for SVC operation.

At PVC creation, the initialization software confirms that the assigned DLCI (wfFrSwRnniVcDlci) is within allowable ranges and that wfFrSwRnniVcStateSet, the object that specifies user control of the PVC, is equal to 2 (active).
Page 109
2 (Active) -- enables the PVC to become operational. For a newly configured PVC, the BayStream frame relay switch software transitions the PVC to the active or control state (refer to wfFrSwRnniVcState on); for an existing PVC, the BayStream frame relay switch software transitions the PVC directly to the active state.

For an advertisement to the remote end of a PVC segment: DLCMI ignores wfFrSwRnniVcCrossNetStatus to avoid status update loops. 32-bit Traffic Information field. Tagged traffic entering the network across an interface on which congestion control is enabled is placed in priority-specific software queues (specified by bits 0 - 7 of the Traffic Information field), and, in the event of congestion, discarded as specified by the discardability index (bits 8 - 15 of the Traffic Information field).
