Shutting down the system unit

Enter the command

The -g option speciies that the operating system will be shut down properly
after, for example, 20 seconds (-g20).
Graphical monitor
Depending on the desktop used, proceed as follows:

Switch to the Main Desktop window (SINIX desktop) or start the application
manager (CDE desktop).
Ê
Select File (SINIX desktop) or System Admin (CDE desktop) from the menu
bar and from the menu which opens select the Shutdown icon.
If you want to define a period of time for shutting down the system other

than the preset 20 seconds, you must now shift the button for the grace
period accordingly.
Ê
Click on the Start icon.
Any other users that are logged in are informed automatically that the system will be
properly shut down after the defined period of time has elapsed. After this time has
elapsed, the users are again informed that the operating system is now being shut
down. The power supply to all of the cabinets is then cut off, and the green LEDs are
no longer lit..

Switch off the external peripheral devices and the console individually.
