Figure 50: Inserting and removing a 4 mm cartridge
Inserting a 4 mm cartridge
Only use 4 mm cartridge tapes bearing the "DDS" (Digital Data Storage)
i
and "MRS IIII" (Media Recognition System) symbols.
Ê
Make sure that the ready indicator is not lit or flashing.
Ê
With the viewing window facing up, push the cartridge into the drive until the
automatic mechanism engages and pulls it all the way in.
The cartridge is now in position. The ready indicator (green LED) lights up.
Removing a 4 mm cartridge
Always wait until the ready indicator (green LED) is steady (not flashing).
Ê
Press the release button to eject the cartridge and then pull the cartridge out
Ê
of the slot.
4 mm cartridges should only be left in the drive for as long as is absolutely
i
necessary. Keep cartridges in their original packaging, as this is the best
way to protect them against dust.
