NOTE: Installing either the QDD-400G-LR8 or the QDD-400G-FR4 transceivers next to each
other in ports 1, 3, 9, or 11 (on each logical PIC) is supported up to a maximum operating
temperature of 35°C at an altitude of up to 6000 feet above sea level. For example, if you install
either a QDD-400G-LR8 or a QDD-400G-FR4 transceiver in port 1 and port 3 of PIC 0, the
maximum supported operating temperature and altitude combination is 35°C at 6000 feet above
sea level. This restriction is due to thermal limitations.
NOTE: Be aware of the following thermal restrictions for the QDD-400G-ZR and QDD-400G-
ZR-M transceivers:
• When operating at an ambient temperature of 23°C or greater, the fan speed must be set to
100% for idle conditions. This prevents the transceiver from powering off.
• If all QSFP56-DD ports have ZR or ZR+ transceivers installed, you will encounter power
restrictions. To avoid these restrictions, port 1 on PIC 0, port 11 on PIC 2, and all QSFP28
ports must have DAC transceivers installed (or must be empty).
• At an ambient temperature of 40°C and an altitude of 6000 feet above sea level or less, the
QDD-400G-ZR or QDD-400G-ZR-M transceivers can only be installed in the top 12
QSFP56-DD ports.
• At an ambient temperature of 35°C and an altitude of 6000 feet above sea level or less, the
transceivers have the following restrictions:
9
