CAUTION: Replace the power supply within two minutes of removal to prevent chassis
overheating. Before removing the power supply, ensure you have a replacement power
supply available.
CAUTION: The AC/HVDC power supply you are installing must use the same airflow
direction as the fan trays installed in the router. Labels on the power supply handle
indicate the direction of airflow. See
CAUTION: Before you replace a power supply in a PTX10001-36MR, ensure that you
have taken the necessary precautions to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage
(see
"Prevention of Electrostatic Discharge Damage" on page
1. Place the antistatic bag or the antistatic mat on a flat, stable surface.
2. Wrap and fasten one end of the ESD wrist strap around your bare wrist, and connect the other end
of the strap to the ESD point on the device.
3. Disconnect power to the PTX10001-36MR power supply you are going to replace. If the AC input
power source outlet has a power switch, set it to the off (O) position. If the AC input power source
outlet does not have a power switch, gently pull out the plug end of the power cord connected to the
power source outlet.
4. Remove the power cord from the power supply by pressing in the locking button on the side of the
power connector and gently pulling the connector out of the power supply faceplate. Refer to
42 on page
109.

5. Slide the ejector lever on the power supply toward the orange handle until it stops.
