Custom Channel Assign Mode

A channel can have its assign button, V-Pot and scribble strip locked to a specific function independent of
any global Channel Assign function changes. This is called a Custom Channel Assignment.
Create a Custom Channel Assignment by pressing and holding the desired Channel Assign button and the
channel strip's ASSIGN button for two seconds. The ASSIGN button blinks three times in the new assign-
ment function color and then changes to the appropriate assign value for that function and channel. Now
that channel will be fixed to that assignment no matter the state of the Channel Assign section. Repeat the
procedure to remove the custom channel assignment.
Example: In a monitor mixing application, the lead vocal channel is on channel 24 of the bottom bank as it
will be the most normally accessed channel for editing. The engineer would like to set the V-Pot and scribble
strip to Aux 1 send level so that he can easily adjust the vocal channel into the singer's monitor mix no
matter what else he might be adjusting for the other channels with the Channel Assign. Assigning Aux 1
as the Custom Channel Assignment keeps Aux 1 always available to the engineer allowing him to keep the
lead vocalist happy. Even if he switches to Gain Pad to adjust a different channel's Mic pre, channel 24 will
continue to show Aux 1. However, he can press and hold the GAIN PAD button to momentarily access the
gain adjustment for channel 24.
