Press either of the VCA bank buttons (see section 8.1.2) to switch back to standard VCA
fader operation and simply press any Aux/Group button to switch back to Aux/Group
master operation with that Aux/Group under control.
All other channel assign functions like pan, aux pan, VCAs, mute groups, etc., act as a
second exclusive group to affect the scribble strip, V-Pot, and assign button parts of the
channel section.
So, in aux mode, two channel assign buttons can be active in the Channel Assign sec-
tion: the selected aux for fader mixing, and the selected function for V-Pot, scribble strip,
and ASSIGN button area. All other parts of the control surface behave as normal.
When entering aux mode, the initial V-Pot control depends on the currently selected V-Pot
function as follows:
• If Channel/Fader Safe, Comp/Gate, VCA 1-16, Mute Group 1-8, EFX 1-4, or any of the
eight mic preamp controls are selected, then they remain the selected V-Pot control
in Aux Mode and Aux/Group 1 flashes as the selected Aux Mode fader control.
• If Aux/Grp 1-24 is selected and that Aux/Group is configured as Mono Aux or Mono/
Stereo Group, then Gain/Pad is automatically selected as the V-Pot control (the GAIN/
PAD button lights) and that Aux/Group flashes as the selected Aux Mode fader control.
• If Aux/GRP 1-24 is selected and that particular Aux/Group is configured as a Stereo
Aux (i.e., 3 and 4 are both lit), then the V-Pot automatically changes to show Aux Pan
(the button lights) and that Aux/Group flashes as the selected Aux Mode fader control.

Effects Buttons

The four blue Effects Channel Assign buttons are lit when active. They are colored blue
because effects sends are essentially four extra aux sends that feed the internal effects
processors and are fixed post fader. On the channel, the V-Pot knob adjusts the effects
send level. The V-Pot LEDs display the relative level setting for the sends. The ASSIGN
button toggles In/Out for the channel being sent to the effects processor and illumi-
nates blue when In.
The scribble strip displays the channel name on the top line until the V-Pot knob is
rotated; then it briefly displays the numerical effects send level value in dB. The bottom
line of the scribble strip displays fxsnd 1-4 or a custom name.
Holding CTRL and pressing an EFFECTS Channel Assign button resets the correspond-
ing effects send for all channels by enabling the send and setting the send level to off.
