EAW UMX.96 Owner's Manual
The stereo channels have a stereo compressor; there is no gate/expander. Thus, the gate processing block is
missing on the overview screen. Touching the Compressor's block also gets you to this point.
Since this is a stereo compressor, the left and right channels are mixed to mono for the key signal, keeping
the stereo image stable even during gain reduction. The signal path retains its independence; signals sent to
the left input come out the left output; the same is true for the right output.
The compressor's input and output metering shows both channels independently while a single reduction
meter shows the reduction applied equally to both sides. Additional information on the Compressor (espe-
cially the activity display) can be found in Section 12.2.7.4.

Stereo Channel Aux/Grps Tab

The stereo channel's aux/groups work in the same fashion as those on the mono channels, with a few differ-
ences.
• Sends to mono aux/groups are mono summed from the left and right channels.
• Sends to stereo aux/groups remain in stereo. The aux send controls become a level/pan control pair, with
the odd-numbered control becoming a level control and the even-numbered control becoming a balance
control. For group sends, there is simply a linked IN button. For additional information, refer to Section
12.2.8.

send.
