Console Configuration, Snapshot, Show, and Preset Storage

The UMX.96 can save every parameter associated with its operation with the exception of the power switch.
Mixer Configuration, Snapshots, Shows, and Presets are stored on the console's internal hard disk and can be
copied to an attached USB mass storage device (like a thumb drive) for backup and transfer.
• Console Configuration — Console configuration storage saves console setup settings. A single configura-
tion is loaded onto the console at a time and many configurations can be stored for easy recall.
• Snapshot — Snapshots save the current state of the console, including faders, mutes, EQ, mic preamp set-
tings, etc. , for instant recall.
• Show — A show is a group of up to 299 snapshots. A single show is loaded onto the console at a time and
many shows can be stored for easy recall.
• Preset — Presets save parameters associated with a particular DSP function, such as EQ, dynamics, rout-
ing, FX, etc. For example, if you have a favorite kick drum EQ setting, you can save it as a preset, and apply
it when needed. Presets are not associated with a particular snapshot or show, so they can be applied at
any time but are most useful during console setup. The console ships with many factory presets for all
DSP functions and you can easily create your own.
Presets are described in Section 12.13. The snapshot system is described below, with more details in Section
12.14.

Snapshot Store and Recall

A snapshot is just that: a "photograph" of the current state of the console, including preamp settings,
phantom power, levels, EQ settings, dynamics settings, and more. You can use snapshots to store cues for a
complex show, settings for the opening act, settings for the headliner, or for something as personal as your
own favorite starting point for using the console.
The console Snapshot controls consists of just four buttons and a 4 digit LED display while complex snap-
shot management is handled from the touchscreen.
The first two buttons are snapshot increment (right arrow) and decrement (left arrow) buttons located on
each side of the LED display. Pressing one of the buttons increments or decrements the snapshot number
displayed in the numerical readout. There are 299 possible snapshots per show.
The other two buttons are snapshot Store and snapshot Recall.
Snapshot storage works as follows:
• The STORE button saves all console settings into the current snapshot position.
• If the current snapshot position is empty, the settings are saved immediately.
• If the current snapshot position already contains stored settings, a confirmation dialog appears on the
touchscreen.
• Choose Yes to replace the existing snapshot; choose Cancel to abort the operation. Pressing the STORE
button a second time also confirms this dialog and stores the snapshot.
