spring pressure ratings are available on some models.

The shock absorber is charged with nitro-
gen gas under high pressure. Do not attempt
expose the shock absorber to high heat or
flames.
Spring rise
The rear suspension bracket supports the front end of
the rear shock absorber (Figure 59). The shock absorber
can be mounted in one of three holes. Changing the
mounting position alters the shock absorber spring rate.
60). Hole A provides the softest setting. Standard setting
is hole B.
To change the setting, first look at the bracket slot and
note if the bracket slot is knurled (Figure 61). If the slot is
knurled, then the bolt shaft is also knurled. Turning the
bolt head causes the bolt shaft to move in the slot to an-
other position. Hold the bolt head so it cannot turn and
loosen the retaining nut. Rotate the bolt head and move
the mounting bolt into the desired notch. Retighten the nut
to 49 N*m (35 ft.-lb.).
To change the setting on models without a knurled slot,
loosen the retaining nut and relocate the bolt into the de-
sired notch. Retighten the nut to 49 N m (35 ft.-lb.).
