3. Start the engine and apply just enough throttle to turn
the track several complete revo~utions. Shut oEthe engine
and allow the track to coast to a stop. Don't stop it with the
brake.
Check the alignment of the rear idler wheels and the
track lugs (Figure 22). If the idlers are equal distance
from the lugs and the openings in the track are centered
with the slide runners (A, Figure 23). the alignment is
correct. However, if the track is offset to one side or the
other, alignment adjustment is required.
If the track is offset to the right (B, Figure 231, tighten
the right adjuster bolt and loosen the lefi one (Figure 21)
in equal amounts until the track is centered. If the track is
offset to the Ieft (C, Figure 231, tighten the left adjuster
bolt a d loosen the right one in equal amounts.
6. Repeat Step 3 and Step 4 and if alignment is still not
correct, repeat Step 5 and then Step 3 and Step 4 until the
track is aligned. Recheck track tension.

Drive Chain Adjustment
Check the drive chain tension monthly. To adjust drive
chain tension, proceed as follows:
2. Turn the adjuster (B, Figure 24) counterelockwise
3. Turn the adjuster clockwise until finger-tight.
4. Hold the adjuster and tighten the jam nut.
Headlight and Taillight Lens Check
Clean the headlight and taillight lens with a rag to en-
sure full light output for both assemblies. Replace dam-
aged lens assemblies as required.
Headlight and Taillight Operation Check
the safe operation of the snowmobile. Start the engine and
make sure the headlight and taillight are on. Operate the
from low-beam to high-beam. Operate the brake lever and
cheek that the brake light comes on. Replace damaged
bulbs as required.
