3. Detach the starter cable bracket (A, Figure 16)? then
remove the collar (B) and spring (C) from the starter rod.
4. Loosen thc clamp screw (D, Figure 161 on each starter
rod a m . Remove the arm (A, Figure 17) and spring (B)
from the end of the rod.
5. Remove the starter rod and remaining starter rod arms.
6. Disconnect the breather hoses from the carburetors.
7. Remove the top cover (Figure 18) and gasket fkom
each carburetor.

9. Remove the vent hose assembly (Figure 20).
10. Remove the upper mounting bracket (A, Figure 21).
12. Separate the carburetors by carehlly sliding the car-
buretors off the throttle shaft.
13. Reverse the disassembly steps to reassemble the car-
buretor assembly, Kote the following:
a. Install the throttle arm connecting screw (Figure
19) on each carburetor so the screw fits into the hole
in the throttle shaft.
b. Install the starter rod arms so the retaining screw
end fits into the indentation on the rod.
Carburetor DisassembIy
Center carburetor-perform the following:
a. Remove the throttle stop screw {A, Figure 22) by
rotating it clockwise. Remove the spring (25, Fig-
ure 231, spring seat (261% screw washer (19). washer
(20) and nut (21).
b. Remove the TORS switch (B, Figure 22) and
spring.

2. Remove the throttle valve and inner throttle lever as-
sembly (Figure 24).
3. Unscrew- the starter housing nut (Figure 25) and re-
move the starter assembly.
4. Lightly seat the pilot mixture screw (Figure 26)?
counting the number ofturns required for reassembly ref-
erence, then back the screw out and remove from the car-
buretor with the spring, washer and O-ring.
5. Remove the float bowl retaining screws and remove
the float bowl (Figure 27) and gasket.
6. Remove the main jet (Figure 28) and ring.
