This chapter covers all the regular maintenance re-
quired to keep a snowmobile in top shape. Regular main-
tenance is the best guarantee of a trouble-free,
long-lasting vehicle. Because sno\vmobiles are high-per-
tune-ups have become increasingly important as in main-
taining a high level of perfomance, extending engine life
and extracting the maximm economy of operation.

proper operation and prevent excessive component dam-

For the first 10- 15 hours of operation, use no more than
3/4 throttle and vary the speed as much as possible. Avoid

conditions during break-in.
To ensure adequate protection to the engine during
break-in, pre-mix the first tank of he1 at a 50: 1 ratio with
the same oil used in the injection system. Yamalube 2-ey-
cle Oil or equivalent is recommended. Throughout the
break-in period, check the oil injection reservoir tank to
