OIL INJECTION SYSTEM
4. Remove the bleed screw and gasket (Figure 4).
5. Drain the oil from the screw hole until the oil is free of
air bubbles.
6. Reinstall the bleed screw and gasket.
7. Reinstall the carburetors.

COMPONENT REPLACEMENT

Oil Reservoir Tank
Open the shroud.
Remove the airbox as described in Chapter Five.
Label the hoses connected to the tank before removal.
Detach the wires from the oil level sender (Figure 5).
Remove the oil tank mounting bolts.
NOTE
Prevent oil in the tank from leaking during
removal. I f access to a hose is difficult, use
another hose of the same diameter, block
one end with a bolt and use this hose toplug
the tankoutletport when the original hose is
detached. Also plug the opened oil supply
line to prevent the entrance of contamina-
tion.
Lift the oil tank up slightly and disconnect the hoses at
the tank. Plug the outlet ports to prevent oil leakage.
7. Installation is the reverse of the preceding steps.
8. Bleed the oil pump
described in this chapter.

Oil Level Sender
Refer to Chapter Six.
Oil Hoses
Install new oil hoses whenever the old hoses become
hard and brittle. When replacing damaged or worn oil
hoses, make sure to install the correct transparent hoses of
the correct diameter. Non-transparent hoses do not allow
the rider to visually inspect the hoses for air pockets or
other blockage that could cause engine seizure. When at-
taching hoses, secure each hose end with a clamp.
Check Valves
Two check valves are used in line with the oil hoses
(Figure 6). The arrow on the check valve body must point
in the direction of normal oil flow.
