Proper Fuel Selection
The two-stroke engines used in Yamaha siiowmobiles
are lubricated by oil that circulates through the crankcase
and eventually into the combusiion chamber with the &el.
The oil is burned with the fuel and expelled through the
exhaust. The various components ofthe engine are lubri-
cated by the oil as it clings to the various parts as it passes

Engine Oil Tank
An oil injection system is used on all models. During
engine operation, oil is at~iomatically injected into the en-
gine at a variable ratio depending on engine rpm.
Check the oil level in the reservoir tank (Figure I) daily
and each time gasoline is added to the he1 tank.
The oil tank is equipped with an oil Ievel sensor that is
connected to the injection oil level pilot lamp on the in-
strument panel. When the oil level in the
specified low point, the pilot lamp lights, Add oil as soon
as possible when the low oil pilot light comes on.

3. Reinstall the fill cap and close the hood.
Chaincase Oil
Oil in the chain housing lubricates the chain and
sprockets. The recommended oil is classified API GL-3
gear oil with a viscusity rating of SAE 75 or 80. DiEerent
types or brands often vary slightly in their composition
and a mixture of any of them may not lubricate as well as

3. Lifi the dipstick out of the chaincase and cheek the oil
level on the dipstick (Figure 3). The oil level should be

4. If the oil level is low, add chaincase oil. Do not ove#111.
Recheck the oil level.
Reinstall the dipstick. Make sure the circular handle on
