Ramp Load Positioning Utility

Before the hard disk head measurement with the ramp load, it is necessary to specify the
ramp load position and the media load position as shown in Figure H-11.
The Ramp Load position and the Media Load position are defined as follows.
Ramp Load Position A load position where the head onto the ramp.
Media Load Position A load position where the head onto the media.
The ramp load positioning utility is a tool used in determining the ramp load position and
the media load position. Once the ramp load positioning is completed, the positioning data
will be saved in the E5023 system.
CAUTION
When the media size, media thickness, or a kind of the heads is changed, re-positioning is
required. Perform the ramp load positioning, or else the crush is occurred around the ramp
loading mechanism.
