Retraction Mechanism
• The Transfer Belt face is changed between the color mode and monochrome mode.
• To accomplish this, the pressure position is changed.
• The pressure position is changed between the color mode and monochrome mode by
changing the cam position, which moves the Retraction Roller up or down.
1. Retracted Position
Cam Position A

Driven Roller
Retraction Roller
2. Monochrome Mode
• The cam turns to the position shown below.
• The Retraction Roller does not move.
• Only the Bk PC Drum contacts the Transfer Belt.
Cam Position B

3. Color Mode
• The cam turns to the position shown below.
• The Retraction Roller pushes down the Transfer Belt.
• The PC Drums of all four colors contact the Transfer Belt.
