Color Shift Correction
• In a tandem engine provided with a separate image reproduction process for each of the
four different colors of toner, incorrect color registration, or color shift, is more likely to
occur due to positional deviations among different LED Units. Any misalignment among
different colors is automatically detected and corrected both in the main scanning and
sub-scanning directions.

Outline of Color Shift Detection

• Patterns are produced in the main scanning and sub-scanning directions on the Transfer
Belt.
• The Registration Sensors read the patterns to allow color shift corrections to be made as
necessary.
