18-12. Transfer Belt Cleaning Mechanism
• The Cleaning Blade scrapes any residual toner off the surface of the Transfer Belt.
• The Transfer Belt is turned backward to remove paper dust wedged between the Clean-
ing Blade and Transfer Belt.

• To remove residual toner from the surface of the 2nd Image Transfer Roller, a reverse
bias is applied to the roller.
• The residual toner is moved to the surface of the Transfer Belt, from which the Cleaning
Blade scrapes it.
