Setting Description
Fast Roaming
Note: This option is available only if the AirBridge mode is disabled.
Status To enable fast roaming, select the Enable radio button. By default, the Disable radio button
is selected.
If your network includes WiFi clients that must be able to roam from one access point to
another, enable fast roaming so that certain client applications can quickly reassociate with
a new access point.
Fast roaming is not available if you select None from the Security Mode menu.
For information about other WiFi features such as setting up a MAC filter and traffic
shaping, see Manage Advanced WiFi and Radio Features on page 77.
7. Click the Save button.
Your settings are saved to be applied later. The page closes. The Wireless Settings
page displays again.
A pop-up window opens. The window shows the number of changes to be applied.
You can either make more changes (also on other pages) or apply the changes now.
8. To apply the changes now, click the Apply button in the pop-up window.
Your changes are applied immediately. If the WiFi link must be reestablished, the
page displays the number of seconds before the AirBridge is back online.
Change the 5 GHz SSID or WiFi security mode for a satellite
or client bridge
Use this task if the selection from the Operation Mode menu is AirBridge Satellite or
Client Bridge.
When you performed the initial configuration on the Day Zero Easy Setup page, you
were required to change the name of the default 5 GHz SSID. If you kept WPA2-PSK as
the WiFi security mode, you were also required to change the passphrase.
You can manually change the default 5 GHz SSID or WiFi security mode again.
Note: For information about scanning for neighboring access points and selecting a
preferred BSSID and SSID, which is a method to automatically change the SSID, see
Scan for neighboring access points on page 57.
