WARNING:
To avoid the risk of corrupting the firmware, do not interrupt the
restoration. For example, do not close the browser, click a link, or load a new page.
Do not turn off the AirBridge. Wait until the AirBridge finishes.
When the restoration is finished, the login page displays.
Manage the default settings file of the
AirBridge
The default settings of the AirBridge are stored within the AirBridge in the default
settings file. By default, the default settings are the factory default setting. However, you
can overwrite the factory default settings with the configuration file that you backed up
(see Overwrite the AirBridge factory default settings on page 106), after which we refer
to these settings as the user default settings. After overwrite the factory default settings,
you can restore the default settings file either to your user default settings or to the
original factory default settings.
IMPORTANT: After you overwrite the factory default settings with your user default
settings, if you press the physical Reset button the back panel of the AirBridge, the
AirBridge is returned to user default settings. In such a situation, to return the AirBridge
to the actual factory default settings, use the software Reset button in the local browser
UI (see Reset the AirBridge to factory default settings on page 104).

Reset the AirBridge to factory default settings

Under some circumstances (for example, if you lost track of the changes that you made
to the AirBridgesettings or you move the AirBridge to a different network), you might
want to erase the configuration and reset the AirBridge to factory default settings.
If you do not know the current IP address of the AirBridge, first try to use the NETGEAR
Insight app or an IP scanner application to detect the IP address before you reset the
AirBridge to factory default settings.
You can use either the physical Reset button on the back panel of the AirBridge or the
software Reset button in the local browser UI.
Note: If you overwrote the factory default settings with your user default settings (see
Overwrite the AirBridge factory default settings on page 106), pressing the physical Reset
button resets the AirBridge to the user default settings. In such a situation, to reset the
AirBridge to the actual factory default settings, you must use the software Reset button
in the local browser UI. If you do so, you erase the user default settings.
