Send a ping

You can ping the IPv4 address of a device or network location from the AirBridge and
view the results of the ping test. You can use this option to check whether the AirBridge
can communicate with a particular IPv4 device or network location.
To send a ping:
1. Open a web browser from a computer that is connected to the same network as the
AirBridge or directly to the AirBridge through an Ethernet cable or WiFi connection.
2. Enter the IP address that is assigned to the AirBridge.
The login page displays.
If your browser does not display the login page but displays a security message and
does not let you proceed, see Log in to the AirBridge after initial setup on page 31.
3. Enter the AirBridge user name and local device password.
The user name is admin. The local device password is the one that you specified
the first time that you logged in. The user name and password are case-sensitive.
If you previously managed the AirBridge through the NETGEAR Insight app or Insight
Cloud portal, enter the Insight network password for the Insight network location to
which the AirBridge was assigned (see Connect over WiFi using the NETGEAR Insight
App on an iOS or Android mobile device on page 13).
The Device Status page displays the Device Information section and other sections.
4. Under Management, select Tools.
By default, the Ping tab is selected and the Ping Test Parameters page displays.
5. In the Target IP / Domain Name field, enter the IP address that the AirBridge must
ping.
6. In the Ping Packet Size field, enter the size in bytes of the each ping packet.
The default size is 64 bytes.
7. In the Number of Pings field, enter the number of pings that the AirBridge must
send.
The default number is 4.
8. Click the Start button.
The AirBridge sends the ping. The results display on the page.
