Note: For information about optional advanced settings that display on the page,
such as changing the Auto RF mode (so that you can set a specific transmission
power), channel HT mode, channel, bit rate, and master time slot, see Manage
Advanced WiFi and Radio Features on page 77. We recommend that you do not
change these advanced settings while you perform the current task.
7. In the Distance field, enter the approximate distance at which the satellite or satellites
are located.
Enter the distance in km. (1 km is 0.6 miles.) For example, if the distance is 2 km
(1.2 miles), enter 2.
Note: For information about changing the name or security settings of the
5 GHz backhaul SSID to which the satellite or satellites must connect, see Manage
the 5 GHz SSIDs and WiFi security on page 60.
8. Click the Save button.
Your settings are saved to be applied later.
A pop-up window opens. The window shows the number of changes to be applied.
You can either make more changes (also on other pages) or apply the changes now.
9. To apply the changes now, click the Apply button in the pop-up window.
Your changes are applied immediately. If the WiFi link must be reestablished, the
page displays the number of seconds before the AirBridge is back online.
Configure the AirBridge as a satellite in a
point-to-point setup
You can configure the AirBridge as a satellite in a point-to-point setup with an AirBridge
master that is located at a main site. You install the satellite at a detached site, where
no wired infrastructure is available. This setup requires a line of sight between the
detached site and the main site.
To configure the AirBridge as a satellite:
1. Open a web browser from a computer that is connected to the same network as the
AirBridge or directly to the AirBridge through an Ethernet cable or WiFi connection.
2. Enter the IP address that is assigned to the AirBridge.
The login page displays.
If your browser does not display the login page but displays a security message and
does not let you proceed, see Log in to the AirBridge after initial setup on page 31.
