To connect AC power to the router, you need the following tools:
ESD grounding wrist strap
AC power cords
WARNING:
You must ground the router before connecting the router to power.
To connect AC power to the router:
Locate the power cords, which should have a plug appropriate for your geographical

location. See the
"MX104 AC Power Cord Specifications" on page
Attach an ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to one of the

ESD points on the chassis.
Insert the appliance coupler end of the power cord into the appliance inlet on the
3.
power supply.
Insert the power cord plug into an external AC power source receptacle.

NOTE:
Each power supply must be connected to a dedicated AC power
feed and a dedicated customer site circuit breaker. We recommend that
you use a dedicated customer site circuit breaker rated for 10 A (100 VAC),
or as required by local code.
Secure the power cord with the power cord retainer clip.

Dress the power cord appropriately. Verify that the power cord does not block the air
6.
exhaust and access to router components, or drape where people could trip on it.

Observe the LED on the power supply. The LED blinks green as it transitions online. If

the power supply is functioning normally, the LED lights green steadily.
If the LED is red or not lit, the power supply is not functioning normally. Repeat the
cabling procedures.
