Switching Engine
With its 5 Gbps switching engine and high-capacity buffer memory, it has
all the performance needed for anchoring ATM backbones at the core of
large networks and giving bandwidth-intensive enterprise servers flexible
options for direct connections to the ATM backbone. Supporting a wide
variety of interface cards, the CoreBuilder 7000HD switch is well-suited
for networks requiring an ATM/Ethernet switch capable of multiple
deployment options.
Interfaces to ATM, Ethernet and Fast Ethernet
The CoreBuilder 7000HD ATM switch provides high-density Ethernet and
Fast Ethernet interfaces, furnishing flexibility and seamless LAN
integration on one ATM switch platform. It supports up to 8 OC-12c 622
Mbps, 32 OC-3 155 Mbps ATM ports, up to 144 switched Ethernet or up
to 64 switched Fast Ethernet ports per chassis. The 622 Mbps OC-12c
interface modules are supported via the 8-Port ATM Interface Card or the
16 Gigabit 1000 Mbps 622 ATM Interface Carrier Card.
