The CoreBuilder 7000 family ATM switches are modular,
high-performance ATM switches designed to increase the capacity and
manageability of enterprise networks. They allow you to scale
performance to extremely high levels as your network grows and evolves.
The CoreBuilder 7000 family ATM switches include the CoreBuilder 7000
ATM switch and the CoreBuilder 7000HD High Density ATM switch.
Figure 1 shows a typical configuration of the CoreBuilder 7000 family
ATM switch which illustrates its modularity and flexibility. It contains two
CoreBuilder 7000HD Switching Modules (one main and one redundant).
Installed in it are four different interface modules: an 8-port ATM
interface module, a CoreBuilder 7400 High Density ATM/Ethernet
interface module, a CoreBuilder 7600 Fast Ethernet interface module and
a CoreBuilder 7800 Giga Ethernet interface module.
