 The width of the nip of between the hot roller and pressure roller is 15.9 mm and
is not adjusted in the field.
 The width of the nip is adjusted manually at the factory with a screwdriver by
raising and lowering the pressure roller. (This method is the same as the
Taurus.)
Fusing Pressure - 1
 This mechanism raises and
lowers the pressure roller.
 The pressure roller is pulled
away slightly to widen the
nip for thick paper and to
prevent a rise in temperature.
 At the start of a job, the
pressure roller lift motor [A]
rotates two cams [B] under
the pressure roller in the
lower unit [C] to lift it against
the fusing belt and hot roller.
 At the end of the job, the lift
motor rotates the cams again
to lower the pressure roller.
