13.1.2 What You Need to Know About Authority Groups

Authority Groups and Extensions
Basically, you can think of an authority group as a set of extensions. You use an authority
group to assign equal rights to the entire set of extensions. Thus, an authority group is a group
of extensions that all have the same authority. For example, if you create two authority groups,
you can allow one group to make local calls and long distance calls and the second authority
group to make local calls only.
Authority Group Guidelines
Authority groups and extensions follow these guidelines:
• You must create at least one authority group on the X6004.
