Using Multidirect Print

Multidirect Print allows you to print to network printers with the NetBEUI pro-
tocol and IPP.

Installing Multidirect Print

Follow the procedure below to install Multidirect Print. This section assumes
that the appropriate printer driver has already been installed on the computer.
For more information about how to install the printer driver, see the "Setup
Guide" that comes with the printer.
Preparation
Be sure to close all applications before beginning the installation process. In-
stalling Multidirect Print may require the computer to be restarted.
A
Close all the applications that are currently running.

Insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
Note
If the installer starts automatically, you can use it to install Multidirect
Print. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Open [Control Panel], and double-click the [Add/Remove Programs] icon.

On the [Install/Uninstall] tab, click [Install].

Click [Next >].

Type the name of the CD-ROM drive in the [Command line for installation pro-
gram] box, followed by ":\NETWORK\MDP\DISK1\SETUP.EXE" (do not
include the quotation marks), and then click [Finish].
Note
An example would be "D:\NETWORK\MDP\DISK1\SETUP.EXE"
when the drive letter is "D".

From the [Choose Setup Language] list, select the language you use, and then
click [OK].

After the [Welcome] dialog box appears, click [Next >].
Follow the instructions on the screen.
After installation is complete, configure the printer port with Multidirect
Print. ⇒ P.10 "Setting Up the Printer Driver"
Note
If the dialog box asking if you want to restart the computer appears, select
[Yes, I want to restart my computer now.].
