Access to Remote CAPI

The special features offered by BinTec routers include implementation of the
Remote CAPI
and for PABXs the Remote TAPI programming interfaces.
This enables applications on computers in the LAN to use the resources of the
router as if these components were installed directly in the computer.
By using BinTec's user concept, you can make sure that only users authenticat-
ed by user name and password can access X4100/200/300's Remote CAPI in-
terface (see
figure 6-3, page

NAT (Network Address Translation)

NAT
is a simple-to-operate procedure that can be used for several pur-
poses in the BinTec implementation:
Hiding the internal host addresses of a LAN by remapping to one or more
external addresses.
