8.5 Resource Card for Encryption and
Compression
The ISDN PRI and G.703 expansion card is supplied ex works with hardware
support for encryption and compression. The ISDN BRI expansion card and the
LAN expansion card can be optionally equipped with a suitable resource card.
A resource card for encryption and compression supports STAC compression
and symmetric encryption processes (DES, 3DES, CAST, Blowfish). This en-
ables the available bandwidth to be fully utilized and connections costs cut,
without affecting the performance of X4100/200/300.
Caution!
The installation of the PRI/G.703 expansion card or the installation of resource
cards in an expansion card generates additional heat. A fan unit must be used
to prevent damage to components!

STAC compression and encryption are configured in the Setup Tool menu WAN
