USER SD CARD

An optional User SD CARD can be used to backup Marks, Routes, and Tracks stored in your
CPN Series Chart Plotter's memory.
Any SD CARD can become a User SD CARD, as long as the SD CARD is initialized (see the following
Par. 2.12.1 "Initializng the SD CARD").
The User SD CARD is similar to a backup disk used with a PC. The User SD CARD is useful
to backup User Points when the RAM has to be cleared to resolve an issue or load new
Software, or if you would like to transfer Waypoint, Track and Route information from one
STANDARD HORIZON CPN Series Chart Plotter to another.
To select the User SD CARD menu follow the procedure:
1. Open the SD CARD door and insert a User SD CARD.
2. Press the

4. Tap on USER CARD. The User SD CARD page appears.
If a not initialized SD CARD is present in the slot, a Warning window is shown.

2.12.1 INITIALIZING THE SD CARD

The initialization or formatting of a SD CARD prepares the SD CARD to receive and store
information. Initialization permanently erases user data previously saved on the SD CARD,
but it does not affect the cartographic data present on the SD CARD.
