2-30 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

CHASSIS BOLTS AND NUTS

Tighten initially at 1 000 km (600 miles, 2 months) and
every 6 000 km (4 000 miles, 12 months) thereafter.
Check that all chassis bolts and nuts are tightened to their specified torque. (Refer to page 2-31 for the loca-
tions of the following nuts and bolts on the motorcycle.)
1 Steering stem head nut
2 Steering stem lock-nut
3 Front fork upper clamp bolt
4 Front fork lower clamp bolt
5 Front fork cap bolt
6 Front axle bolt
7 Front axle pinch bolt
8 Handlebar clamp bolt
9 Front brake master cylinder mounting bolt
0 Front brake caliper mounting bolt
A Front brake caliper housing bolt
B Brake hose union bolt (Front & Rear)
C Air bleeder valve
(Front brake caliper & Rear brake caliper)
D Air bleeder valve (Master cylinder)
E Brake disc bolt (Front)
F Brake disc bolt (Rear)
G Rear brake caliper mounting bolt
H Rear brake master cylinder mounting bolt
I Rear brake master cylinder rod lock-nut
J Front footrest bracket mounting bolt
K Swingarm pivot nut
L Swingarm pivot lock-nut
M Rear suspension bracket nut
N Rear shock absorber mounting bolt/nut (Upper & Lower)
O Cushion rod nut
P Cushion lever mounting nut
Q Rear axle nut
R Rear sprocket nut
S Steering damper bolt/nut
T Rear brake caliper pin bolt
