2-22 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

CHASSIS BOLTS AND NUTS

Tighten initially at 1 000 km (600 miles, 1 month) and ev-
ery 6 000 km (4 000 miles, 12 months) thereafter.
Check that all chassis bolts and nuts are tightened to their specified torque. (Refer to page 2-23 for the
locations of the following nuts and bolts.)
1 Steering stem head nut
2 Front fork upper pinch bolt
3 Front fork lower pinch bolt
4 Front fork cap bolt
5 Front axle
6 Front axle pinch bolt
7 Handlebar holder bolt
8 Front brake master cylinder clamp bolt
9 Front brake caliper mounting bolt
0 Brake hose union bolt (front & rear)
A Air bleeder valve (front & rear)
B Brake disc bolt (front & rear)
C Rear brake caliper mounting bolt
D Rear brake caliper housing bolt
E Rear brake master cylinder mounting bolt
F Rear brake master cylinder rod locknut
G Front footrest bolt
H Front footrest bracket bolt
I Swingarm pivot nut
J Rear shock absorber mounting nut (upper & lower)
K Cushion lever mounting nut
L Cushion lever rod mounting nut
M Rear axle nut
N Rear sprocket nut
O Rear torque link nut (front & rear)
