CUSTOMIZING YOUR DIGITAL TELEPHONE SET

The PROGRAM key accesses the options available to customize your digital telephone set settings.

To Change the Language on Your Phone

Each extension can select the display prompts to be in English, French or Spanish.
From your digital telephone set, press the PROGRAM key.
Select "Language".
Select the required option – English, French or Spanish.
Press the speakerphone key to finish programming.
Note: The language setting for all the digital telephone sets can be changed. See page 93.

Automatic Answer

You can program your digital telephone set to work in "Auto-answer mode". In this mode the
speakerphone key light flashes red, and when you receive an internal call you hear a burst of tone and the
call is connected automatically. You can speak to the caller without touching the digital telephone set.
From your digital telephone set, press the PROGRAM key.
Select "Auto Answer".
Select the required option - "Set auto answer" or "Cancel auto answer" - to set and cancel the
Automatic Answer mode respectively.
Press the speakerphone key to finish programming.

To Program a Feature onto a Programmable Key on your Extension

You can re-program any or all of the programmable keys on the digital telephone sets. There are eight on
the eight key digital telephone set, 16 on the sixteen key digital telephone set and 32 on the DSS. You can
program these keys to select lines, extensions, features or speed-dial numbers.
From your digital telephone set, press the PROGRAM key
Press the Scroll Down key ( ) until "Key Programming" is displayed.
Select "Key Programming".
Press the programmable key to be programmed. A list of options appears on the display.
Select the required feature to be programmed onto the key. Use the Scroll Down key ( ) to scroll
down to view the list of available features. For example, to program the key with a speed dial number,
select the "Individual Digits" option.
Press the speakerphone key to finish programming.
Note: If you are programming the key to call an external number remember to precede the number with a 9
or 760 - 769.
