Checking And Adjusting Cable Clearances

To check cable clearances, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 30.
1. Remove the top cover assembly (page 52).
2. Open the front door as far as it will go. Pull the label taken sensor cable
(1) until a 1/8 inch service loop (slack) is present.
3. Push the label sensor slide (2) into the user side of the printer as far as it
will go. Pull the two label sensor cables through the power supply cable
tie (3) towards the controller PCBA until it is taut but not strained.
4. Pull the control panel cable (4) through the power supply cable tie (3)
toward the controller PCBA.
5. Push the plastic spiral wrap (5) toward the motor. Hold the spiral wrapped
portion of the motor cable parallel to the printer base and equidistant
between the platen belt and platen tension spring, and pull the motor
cable (6) toward the controller PCBA.
6. Tighten the power supply cable tie (3).
7. Make sure all cables are clear of pulleys and belts.
8. Install the top cover assembly (page 52).
