Removal Procedures

This chapter contains removal procedures for components that you can
replace at the field service level of maintenance.
If replacement or installation of a component or assembly differs from simply
reversing the removal steps, the differences are listed after the removal
procedure. It is important, therefore, to read the entire procedure before you
start maintenance.
Part numbers for replacement parts are listed in Chapter 5, "Illustrated Parts
Breakdown" (IPB). If a part does not have a part number in the IPB, it is not a
spared item.
WARNING
Always power the printer off and unplug the AC power cord before
doing any maintenance procedure.

You do not need many tools and materials to service the T4204 printer:

Flat Tip Screwdriver
•
Phillips Screwdriver, #1 and #2
•
Hex keys: 1/16 inch, 5/64 inch, 3/32 inch, 1/8 inch
•
Torque Wrench with 1/4 inch hex receptacle and a range of 0-30 inch-
pounds
•
Nut Drivers: 7mm, 8mm, 1/4 inch
•
12R External Snap Ring Pliers
•
Loctite® 222 thread locker or equivalent
•
Pliers
