Removal Procedures

Platen Drive Belt (120 Tooth)

To remove the platen drive belt, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 21.
1. Remove the top cover assembly (page 52).
2. Remove the ribbon drive belt (page 76).
3. Loosen the motor mount screws and nuts (1).
4. Walk the platen drive belt (2) off the motor pulley (3) and platen pulley (4).
To replace the platen drive belt, follow the steps below and refer to Figure 21
1. Install the platen drive belt (2) around the motor pulley (3) and the platen
pulley (4).
2. Tighten the platen drive belt by sliding the motor toward the rear panel
and tightening the motor mount screws and nuts (1). Belt tension is
correct when belt deflection is 1/8 inch midway between the pulleys.
3. Install the ribbon drive belt (page 76).
4. Install the top cover assembly.
